As far as your attempts, I can't praise you enough for branching out and experimenting only to create something that is both visually appealing and stylistic. The steps you outlined in your description were definitely worth the time and effort, you've churned out one of the best submissions this year.

The story to this whole thing was utterly fantastic. I thought it might go a bit different as the story progressed, but I was surprised by different choices you made.

I definitely believe you should make it into the top 5.

Good luck and super job well done.

Pahgawk responds:

Thanks! I probably won't stick with many of the things I tried out here, but at least now I can't say I haven't tried.

5/5. The animation was spectacular. You lip synced everything fantastically while meeting the concept of the song with style and vigor.

I'm not sure how I feel about the song. I know that I want to hear it again, maybe even twice more, but do I like it? I'm uncertain. It may be one of those songs that catch you, even if you can't ever decide.

Excellent work.

Excellent short. The motion, sound, colors, and style were all great. 5/5.

I imagine something far worse, though ;).

Fantastic job. Definitely move on to make the other shorts.

ForTheLoss responds:

Unless the spider jumps into your mouth and *then* you fall out of the window to your death, I can't imagine anything much worse ;)

Oldie but goodie

Come on now, don't ask people to blam it ;)

I'm tempted to give you ten just for the choice in music (Reba portion, anyway).

It's an older one, but it's a good one. The animation could use some work, it's rough, but since it's a few years old (presumably anyway) I'll not suggest fixing it.

You've done a fine job piecing together the animation to the music. It shows real effort in music choice, animation, and style.

Jessismith responds:

That really means a lot. Thank you.
I'm glad you liked the music choice. Reba is one of my faves too. :)

Extraordinary symbolism

The funny thing is, it's not really all that abstract, but I understand the confusion in previous posts - why they may be surprised at the religious overtone.

I didn't expect it. We are, after all, on Newgrounds. I wasn't surprised, though.

The simplicity in this animation is what makes it so strong. It's as simple as one sentence - to say it as it should be said, without the fury of fanaticism.

I agree with Christopherrossi, this is a great animation. You have a very specific target audience with this piece. On the other hand, you've distributed it to an incredibly diverse audience. If it needs expansion, it's merely for informative reasons. However, expanding it could potentially kill the power of it.

Dmac rocks, you rock

And so does this typography in motion. This is the best piece of typography in motion I've seen in such a long time.

Everything flows so smoothly. I love the way the whole thing builds, it's utterly fantastic.

Supreme work. Really.

I'm going to say...

This wasn't all that bad. A bit short and easily predicted, but still rather amusing. I would have dearly loved to do just the same to her while playing.

I think all you need to do to improve this is work on the sound, try to even it out and smooth it out a bit. The animation needs some work, but that will come with practice and time, so don't stress.

Take it back down of the completed shelf, work on the rough edges, and present it all over again.

lucas76 responds:

yes, me too, i mean who wouldnt like to make that while navi says hey! (espacially in 3DS one wich calls you every hour dot you wanna take a rest?).
This is a semi old animation
i mean im uploading what i have in da here not in order so any animation could be an old one.
also i prefer makeing games rather than makeing animations.
thanks for your coment

Just work on the lip syncing, audio quality, and story line. You're on your way.

What You Need...

Audio: You need to equalize the volume on all voices and have a higher quality bitrate.

Animation: Not terrible, I've seen worse. It has it's own style.

Storyline: Well, it's interesting, but it needs a little more planning before implementation.

Side Notes: The Sponge Bob laugh carries on a little too long. It needs cut a little shorter.

Overall, it does seem to be more appealing for easily amused children, BUT it could appeal to a wider audience if you work on the delivery and timing.

Unbelievable...

...this was absolutely beautiful. I loved it. The voices were fabulous. I love the way you worked Link. You're a mastermind, Sweetheart.

You made me blush. :#]
